Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector Daily All-In-One

BB creams are an absolute staple for me. I love the light texture and coverage it provides and it’s a great way to give my skin a bit of a breather while still covering the necessary. When my skin is behaving itself I can sometimes get away with just BB cream at work but because I always put moisturiser on under my BB cream,  I do have a tendency to break out if I use BB creams too regularly (after some research, I’ve realised this isn’t a unique problem) but I’ve found I’m OK if I stick to weekend use.  I have tried a couple of BB creams and after getting hooked on Garnier Miceller Cleansing Water, my latest purchase was Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector Daily All-In-One.

If you don’t already know, here’s the low-down on BB Creams:

Originally developed in Germany, BB cream is a Beauty Balm or Blemish Balm which corrects skin blemishes and discolouration.  They are essentially an all-in-one tinted moisturiser giving you sun protection with a broad-based SPF and  usually containing anti-aging ingredients, as well as hyaluronic acid and glycerin, hydrating your skin and giving you a dewy complexion. The limitations though are that it can be challenging to find a shade that suits your skin as they usually come in a limited range and they can cause breakouts due to the moisturising agents.  They not going to give you the same coverage as a foundation but are great for ladies wanting to keep their make-up low key – you can also use it as a primer under you foundation for a fuller coverage.

What Garnier says?

BB cream perfect for all skin types, it provides coverage while evening tone, blurring lines and imperfections, provides a healthy glow and gives 24 hour hydration to your skin. It also contains an SPF15 with UV protection.

I chose the Light shade of Garnier’s BB cream and found it blends really nicely with my skin and gives fairly good coverage, evens out my skin and adds brightness to it. It glides onto your skin and is easy to apply and blend with your fingers (I tend to not use a make-up brush for BB cream) It left my skin feeling hydrated and gave me a soft, dewy look – I do find that on a hot day I can get a bit too shiny so I pop on some powder to counteract the shine. I don’t think this would be suitable if you have oily skin (Garnier do have a Pure Control Anti-Acne BB for oily skin though) It does need a few minutes to settle on your skin though so if you are putting on blusher, leave it for last.  The SPF15 is great for day-to-day but if I’m going in the sun, I won’t venture out without SPF50 on my face. The verdict? An excellent value for money purchase (just R79.99 from Dischem or Clicks) and one I will probably buy again – although I will post a review on my absolute favourite soon!

Have a wonderful week friends!
