The Dermalogica Experience

Dermalogica has been my go-to skincare brand for a few years now. As a beauty blogger, I get to trial different products and brands but always find myself going back to Dermalogica for my routine staples. My skin is quite sensitive so I am quite picky with what products I choose to test and although I have definitely tried some great brands and products, my skin just does better on Dermalogica. They are all about innovation, educating therapists and customers about proper skincare and their products are not tested on animals. The downside though is that it is pricey – although buying the larger bottles of cleanser and moisturiser works out cheaper and the products do last a long time.

I’ve passed the Dermalogica Concept Store in Cavendish Square many times and always been intrigued so I was super excited when I was invited to the launch of their brand new Tygervalley store. The store is beautifully decorated with slate and copper finishes, making it sleek and elegant – and appealing to both men and women. The focus for Dermalogica is on delivering results through education, innovation, and professional recommendation, not through advertising, frilly packaging or promises of miracle cures. Their simple packaging may not be designed to colour-coordinate with your bathroom but you can be sure that they’ve spent their time on delivering the high-performance formulas your skin needs.

Each concept store offers a range of services designed to address your skin care needs. At the opening of the store, we were offered a Dermalogica Face Mapping®. This 10 minute analysis of your skin from forehead to collarbone, identifies potential problems, unique needs, and how to treat them professionally. Face Mapping® ensures that your Dermalogica products will target specific zones and deliver all-over benefits. The advantage of Face Mapping® is that you really get to know what your skin needs before purchasing products that you might not need and may not benefit your skin. You can also do Speed Mapping which is an online service where you can fill out your skin details and be sent a list of suitable products. Other services include a consultation at the Skin Bar where you can learn more about each of the products and how to use them, a Dermaligica Facelift Treatment which is a 10 minute quick refresher to get your skin looking and feeling its best, a BioSurface Peel, Dermalogica Skin Treatment, Ionactive Power Treatment and Dermalogica MicroZone which is another great express treatment gets you in, gets skin repaired and gets you out the door in just 20 minutes.
