OWay organic hair products have launched in South Africa! Organic Way (OWay) has brought their organic and fair-trade hair care range to our shores and I am thrilled about it! I have a love-hate relationship with my hair – while I have a lot of it, it’s super thin and wavy and tends to leave me looking like I walked through a bush backwards unless it gets the TLC it needs. I’m fussy with the conditioners I use as they need to give my hair enough nourishment to avoid the frizzy birds-nest but not so much that it weighs my hair down, leaving it limp and lifeless. A fine line to walk but OWay’s Frequent Use Conditioner has really impressed me!

OWay Frequent Use Conditioner:
A good conditioner is key for me in avoiding a birds-nest and looking like Hagrid’s first cousin. My hair knots really easily so I need to brush through the conditioner before rising otherwise I end up pulling out loads of my hair. This conditioner is quite thin so I didn’t hold out must hope of it really doing much for my hair initially. But a little goes a long way and it combed through really easily as it also helps detangle hair. It is suitable for all hair types and adds moisture and nourishment without weighing the hair down. My hair has felt incredibly soft after using it, and it smells so lovely too, thanks to all the essentials oils. This retails for R375 for a 240ml bottle.
A few of the key ingredients in this conditioner are:
Biodynamic lemon – to add shine and revitalizes dull hair with a heavy dose of antioxidants from vitamin C.
Organic white tea extract – rich in polyphenols, it has an anti-ageing properties and also protects against oxidative stress.
Fair trade Aniseed – contains antiseptic and antibacterial properties to promote a healthy scalp Macadamia Oil – nourishes and smooths hair while protecting against split ends
OWay Frequent Use Hair and Scalp Bath
When it comes to shampoo, I’m not nearly as fussy as I am with conditioner. The key for me is it needs to leave my hair feeling clean and not oily or lifeless. I also alternate my shampoo as I use a Purple Shampoo every second wash to maintain my blonde highlights. Like the conditioner, a little goes a long way and lathers up really nicely. It gently cleanses your hair while moisturising and strengthening. This retails for R355 for a 240ml bottle.
I have been loving this range from OWay and my hair feels amazing. I asked my hairdresser what she thought of the condition of my hair when I went for a cut last week and she said it had really improved since the last time she saw me – I had really been struggling with the frizzyness! If you’ve been following my beauty posts, then you’ll know that I’ve been making a more concerted effort to use products that are not only cruelty-free but also ones that are kinder to the environment and use less chemicals. This is definitely a brand to try!
