Review: Bioderma’s Pigmentbio

Review: Bioderma’s Pigmentbio

My skin concerns have always been around breakouts and sensitivity. Pigmentation was something I never gave a second thought to until I fell pregnant. Even then, I didn't really take much notice of it until the day after I had given birth - and then I wondered what on earth had happened to my forehead! [...]

OWay South Africa Has Launched!

OWay organic hair products have launched in South Africa! Organic Way (OWay) has brought their organic and fair-trade hair care range to our shores and I am thrilled about it! I have a love-hate relationship with my hair - while I have a lot of it, it's super thin and wavy and tends to leave [...]

Review: Why I love Heart Tree Facial Oils

When it comes to skincare, I've always kept a very simple routine. I love trying new products but my base products always stay the same. A daily cleaner, moisturiser and then a face scrub/mask a few times a week. I've dipped my toe into the facial oil pool once or twice but I've always shied [...]

You clean your face but what about those brushes?

You clean your face but what about those brushes?

Beauty 101 - wash your face and remove your makeup before going to sleep. It's the holy grail of skincare and the "secret" to many a celebrity's flawless face. It's so much a part of my routine and no matter how tired I am after a night out, I can't get into bed unless I've [...]

Why Purple Shampoo is a Game Changer

February 10, 2019February 11, 2019by Boots in the Big City1 Comment on Why Purple Shampoo is a Game Changer
Why Purple Shampoo is a Game Changer

Purple shampoo? Is is really worth all the fuss? Well, it's not often that I come across a beauty product seriously impresses me. And it's not often that I see such visible results after the very first use. But, Milk_Shake Silver Shine Shampoo did just that and it's a real game changer. I hadn't heard [...]

Wishing today's morning run view was as good as last weeks 🙃 Feeling all the post-holiday blues as the reality of the start of the new year kicks in 😷
| 12 weeks Blink and you’ll miss it 💙
World Prematurity Day 💙 I never thought I'd have one, let alone two prem babies but my babies just don't like to bake. I held my babies for the first time when they were three days old - the second time around, I left the hospital before holding my baby. It's hard, COVID made it harder, and nothing really prepares you for what you are about to experience but it is one you will never forget. The NICU is a special place and it's hard to fully understand what goes on behind those doors until you've walked through them 💙
"You were the baby.
Three 💙 Last week my biggest little turned a whole three years old. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little emotional as I tucked my two-year old in for the last time. In the blink on an eye, my baby became a little boy with the gentlest soul, most phenomenal personality and cheekiest sense of humour who knows just how to tug my heartstrings. Being his mama is the greatest privilege 💙
Happy Due Date 💙 Not to be out done, this tiny human made sure his arrival was every bit as dramatic as his big brother's. At four weeks early, he stayed baking just one week longer than his brother and with a week in NICU, made sure this mama became a seasoned pro at premies 😉 Soaking up every inch of this fleeting newborn stage 💙
